But I'm currently torn between waiting until Apple decides to release something better in my price range, or just buying a Mac mini.  I could get another iMac eventually, and maybe I will. I got the thing to boot into disk mode after entering a "FW TEST" mode and updated the firmware from there. I have noticed some of the recommended options which the author suggests on the site, produce undesired effects on the video.  Not a good thing.  I wasted hours of good encoding time, making a bad copy of a video.  Thank you.
